Retro Seashells from the Wright Collection

This collection is part of a family inheritance and until recently has been stored in cardboard boxes wrapped in newspapers for well over 20 years.     There are approx 4000 items now packed into 1383 numbered plastic ziplock bags.    All specimens are shown in the attached photographs. 

Many of the items have fragile handwritten paper labels with identification or location or collector's name.    The labels have been photographed with their accompanying shell.      

As far as can be determined the shells were collected in the 1950's to 1970's.   

Collection regions include Australia, The Philippines, America, dredged from the North Sea and various other sites around the world.

Many years ago, the collection was on display in Yea, Victoria and also in a private gallery in Albury, NSW.

Obviously, the photographs and numbering schedule have not been prepared by a collector or professional and it is recognised that several items will have no monetary or collector value.

The intention is to offer the collection for sale to Australian collectors as a whole and invite genuine enthusiasts to offer guidance, suggestions or naturally make an offer to purchase.     The collection is housed in Albury, NSW and inspection would be available by appointment.  In the event of the collection being purchased delivery if needed would be organised by mutual agreement depending on location.
